Where are Barbie’s friends?
Last weekend hundreds of thousands of people rushed to theaters to see the Barbie movie, myself included. With the biggest opening of the year, its uniquely 2023 flavor of post-modernism and whatever nth wave of feminism we’re on has prompted lots of discourse and hot takes. Is the movie feminist enough? Does it do enough to show how patriarchy and toxic masculinity alienate men from one another?
